Decorex 2023

Decorex is the premier annual trade show for interior designers. Held at Olympia in London over 3 days in October, the event featured over 400 brands represented by 200+ exhibitors. Studio 15 Interiors went along to meet suppliers, view the products on offer and get a feel for upcoming interiors trends.

It certainly did not disappoint.

Ellie met and spoke to about 100 interior design suppliers! The most interesting and eye-catching in our opinion, included the following:

Most interesting!

Galerie Wallcoverings

Offering a truly beautiful selection of luxury, highly textured colourful wallpapers. Sourced from Germany, these wallpapers are from certified sustainable wood with zero plasticizers, solvents or PVC.

Very talented furniture maker! Watched him shaping a walnut “Velo” chair, a chair made from a single piece of wood. He also demonstrated how “The Totem Cabinet” drinks cabinet (or was it a sculpture?!) worked.

Stunning lighting, designed in the UK and manufactured in Stoke on Trent. These bone china drop pendants were sleek and beautiful. We also fell for the fine china “Fin” range of pendants - stunning when grouped together in a cluster!

Interior design trends

Biophilic - There were an abundance of products featuring plants, flowers, trees and animals.

  • Rugs and wallpapers in the “One hundred birds: One hundred flowers” range featuring brightly coloured birds from Wendy Morrison Design.

  • Juliette O Designs also presented some beautiful nature-inspired fabrics, wallpaper and artwork at her first Decorex trade show this year.

Bold palette of colours - Say yay for more colourful interiors!

  • Little Greene Paints had an enormous palette of paint colours. This season’s special blend is called Sweet Treats, based on the colours of French patisserie. Yummy! They provided a useful booklet showing which accent colours to use with the new palette.

  • Yes Colour Paints had sponsored the walkway area between the two Olympia Halls. Creating an impressive walkway featuring some of their bolder paint colours.

  • Dowsing & Reynolds showcased some desirable light switches, plug sockets and more in a range of beautiful colours. Functionality need not be boring.

Playful lighting
- a really unique set of lighting options!

  • Curiousa Absolutely stunning, unique glass and ceramic light collection. The bubble-gum colours and the interesting shapes are designed and manufactured in Derbyshire, UK.

  • The Pooky exhibit featured some impressive, colourful chandeliers! The pleated fabric lampshades always impress too.

Rounded squishy furniture

  • Martella presented the De Muro Das furniture range which includes curvaceous tables and soft squishy armchairs and sofas.

  • Graham & Green showcased their new Faux Sheepskin Alba sofa at Decorex this year.

In summary

Needless to say, the day was jam-packed! So much to see and learn. We have already decided that we will go for more than one day next year!

Next year’s event date has been announced already: 6-9 October 2024. See you there.
